About BBGU
北部湾大学是一所以工学、理学、管理学为主，多学科协调发展的全日制普通高等学校。学校位于北部湾经济区核心港口城市钦州市，校园占地138公顷，是学习和研究的理想场所。
北部湾大学的前身是创建于1973年的钦州地区师范学校，1991年改建为钦州师范高等专科学校，2006年升格为钦州学院。2018年底，经教育部批准，在钦州学院基础上设立北部湾大学。
Beibu Gulf University (BBGU) is a full-time public university focusing on engineering, science, and management, with the coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It is located in Qinzhou, the core port city of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. Covering an area of 138 hectares, the campus serves as an ideal place for study and research.
The predecessor of BBGU was Qinzhou Regional Normal School, founded in 1973. In 1991, it was restructured into Qinzhou Teachers’ College, and upgraded to Qinzhou University in 2006. At the end of 2018, the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China officially approved the establishment of Beibu Gulf University on the basis of Qinzhou University.

北部湾大学现有54个本科专业和10个硕士学位授权点，全日制在校生约24500人（含留学生82余人），教职工1300余人。学校立足北部湾，面向南海和东盟，服务国家战略和区域经济发展，坚持产教融合，以产学研战略联盟为平台，注重实践能力、创新能力和就业创业能力培养，与行业企业开展人才培养和协同创新合作，形成了鲜明的办学特色和应用型人才培养模式。
Beibu Gulf University currently offers 54 undergraduate programs and 10 master’s degree programs, with approximately 24500 full-time students (including 82 international students) and more than 1,300 faculty members. Rooted in the Beibu Gulf, oriented toward the South China Sea and ASEAN, and committed to serving national strategies and regional economic development, the university adheres to the integration of industry and education. It takes the industry-university-research strategic alliance as a platform, focuses on cultivating students’ practical abilities, innovative capabilities, and employability skills, and collaborates with industrial enterprises in talent development and joint innovation. This has formed a distinctive school-running model and an application-oriented talent training model.

特色学科
Characteristic
学校海洋特色鲜明，开设了海洋科学、海洋工程、航海技术、水产养殖学、船舶与海洋工程、港口航道与海岸工程等一批涉海专业，构建了海洋生物与技术、海洋交通运输与工程等海洋特色学科集群。在中华白海豚、鲎、珍珠贝、牡蛎等海洋物种保护以及海岛资源保护与利用等研究领域，处于省内乃至国内领先水平
With prominent maritime characteristics, the university has launched a number of marine-related majors, such as Marine Science, Marine Engineering, Navigation Technology, Aquaculture, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, and Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering. It has thus built marine-focused discipline clusters, including Marine Biology and Technology, and Marine Transportation and Engineering. In research fields such as the conservation of marine species (e.g., Chinese white dolphins, horseshoe crabs, pearl oysters, and oysters) and the conservation and utilization of island resources, the university ranks among the leading institutions at both the provincial and national levels.

国际化办学
Internationalization
学校坚持开放合作办学理念，已与越南、泰国、马来西亚、波兰、英国、美国等20多个国家和地区的50多所高校或机构建立了合作关系。目前，有来自40多个国家和地区的1000余名留学生在校学习。
学校与美国东密歇根大学合作举办了北部湾大学东密歇根大学联合工程学院，这是广西首个本科层次的国际合作办学机构。通过与波兰华沙理工大学等高校合作开展本科教育项目，学校为学生提供各类各级海外学习交流机会，如联合培养、学分互认、国际学术交流等。
Adhering to the philosophy of open and collaborative education, the university has established cooperative relationships with over 50 universities and institutions across more than 20 countries and regions, including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Currently, there are more than 1,000 international students from over 40 countries and regions studying at the university.
The university has collaborated with Eastern Michigan University (USA) to establish the Eastern Michigan University Joint College of Engineering at Beibu Gulf University—this marks Guangxi’s first undergraduate-level international joint educational institution. By partnering with universities such as Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) to offer undergraduate programs, the university provides students with various types and levels of overseas study and exchange opportunities, including joint training, credit recognition, and international academic exchanges.

International Students Activities
我校每年定期举办国际文化节、留学生书法比赛、民歌大赛等多项文化活动，并开展各类文化体验项目。活动吸引了众多留学生积极参与，大家在体验中华文化魅力的同时，也充分展示各自国家的独特风采，共同搭建起一座促进文化交流与理解的友谊之桥。
We host a variety of cultural events annually, including an International Culture Festival, Calligraphy Competition, Folk Song Contest, and other cultural experience activities. These events attract numerous international students to participate. While immersing themselves in Chinese culture, students also showcase their own national cultures, building a vibrant bridge for mutual cultural exchange and understanding.
